Creating an iSCSI target

You can create an iSCSI target so that you can have communication between a server and a storage system using the iSCSI protocol.

  • Verify that the vCenter is registered and attached to a UCP system where the storage device is onboarded.
  • Verify that the storage device has an iSCSI port configured.
  • Verify that a compute server with a configured IQN is onboarded.
  1. Browse to the storage system where you want to create an iSCSI target.
  2. Click iSCSI Targets > Create iSCSI Target .
  3. Enter the following:
    Name
    A name for the iSCSI target.
    Target IQN
    A target iSCSI qualified name.
    Target Port
    The target port of the iSCSI target.
    Host Mode
    The host mode.
    Host Mode Options (optional)
    The ID of the host mode option.
    Initiator IQN
    The initiator IQN.
    Authentication Mode
    Select an authentication mode:
    • NONE
    • CHAP
    • BOTH
    Note: If you select CHAP or BOTH, then enter the CHAP user ID and Secret. For is Mutual Auth, select either TRUE or FALSE. The default mode is FALSE.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Click the Refresh icon to update the list information.
