Creating a host group

You can create host groups native to the storage system that contains the relationships between the storage port WWNs, host HBA WWNs, and LUNs for storage mapping.

  1. Browse to the storage system where you want to create a host group.
  2. Select Host Groups.
  3. Click Create Host Group.
  4. Enter the following:
    Name
    Enter a name of the host group for easy identification.
    Target Port
    Select a target port from the list of available ports.
    Note: The SCSI and NVMe protocols are displayed only for the VSP 5200, VSP 5200H, VSP 5600, VSP 5600H, VSP E1090, VSP E1090H,VSP One B24, VSP One B26, and VSP One B28 storage systems.
    Host Mode
    Select a host mode from the list.
    Host Mode Option
    (Optional) Select one or more host mode options, as applicable.
    Note: For the NVMe protocol, only option 13 is available as the host mode.
    Initiator WWN
    Select Enter WWN manually or select an initiator WWN from the list.
    Note: If you select Enter WWN manually, then enter a value for the WWN in the WWN field.
    WWN Hostname
    (Optional) Enter a name for the WWN.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Click the Refresh icon to update the list information.
