You can provision, expand, delete, attach, detach, mount, and unmount datastores. You can also enable TrueCopy replication and GAD replication.
Complete the following vCenter-related tasks before you perform any datastore operation.
- Register vCenter. See Registering vCenter.
- Attach vCenter to UCP system. See Attaching a vCenter to a UCP system
- Add vCenter user as a local UCP Advisor user or add Active Directory and grant the ucpAdmin role. See Adding vCenter users to UCP Advisor
- Log on to UCP Advisor with valid vCenter credentials.
- Browse to the storage system where you want to manage datastores.
- Select Datastores.Note: Datastores on disconnected or inaccessible hosts are not listed in datastore wizards.Tip:
Use the Filter icon to filter the list, as well as sort it by column.
Use the Refresh icon to refresh the information.
Refreshing vCenter requires a ucpAdminRole.
Note:
- NVM Subsystems are available on VSP 5200, 5600, 5200H, 5600H, VSP E1090, VSP E1090H, VSP 5500, VSP 5500H, VSP One B24, VSP One B26, and VSP One B28 storage systems only.
- Expanding a datastore is not supported for NVMe datastores.
The following information is displayed in the datastore inventory:
- Name
- The name of the datastore.
- Volume ID
- The volume ID of the datastore.
- ESXi Host
- The IP address or the host name of the ESXi host where the datastore is located.
- Allocated Capacity
- The amount of allocated space in the datastore.
- Free Capacity
- The amount of available space remaining in the datastore.
- Total Capacity
- The total used space and free space in the datastore.
- Mount Status
- The mount status of the datastore.
- Type
- The type of datastore.
- Protocol
- The protocol of the datastore - NVME or SCSI.
- Capacity Saving
- The capacity saving of the datastore.
- ALUA
- The ALUA mode of the datastore.
- GAD Pair
- The GAD pair of the datastore.
- True Copy Pair
- The True Copy pair of the datastore.
