You can upgrade the firmware for an Ethernet switch. The firmware upgrade operation can take approximately 30 minutes to complete, depending on the switch type.
- Download the Switch07102024.zip firmware bundle from the Hitachi Support Connect portal and upload it to UCP Advisor. See Uploading firmware.
- Verify that the UCP Advisor SCP address is reachable from the Ethernet switch.
- Verify that the device user credentials are assigned administrator role: network-admin.
Important:
- If you are upgrading a Cisco 3048 management switch, verify that the switch has at least 0.95 GB of free space available. You can free up space by performing the following:
- Log into the switch CLI, and then delete all unnecessary files using the delete command.
- Log into the switch CLI, and then compact the existing firmware file using the following command:
install all nxos bootflash:///<firmware filename> compact
- If you are upgrading a Arista 7010T switch, verify that the switch has at least 2.2GB of free space available. You can free up space by logging into the switch CLI, and deleting all the unnecessary files using the delete command. For example:
R1-DCS-7010T-48-R-A>enable R1-DCS-7010T-48-R-A#delete flash:EOS-4.25.4M.swi
Note: Firmware lifecycle management of Ethernet switches requires the Advanced Edition license.
