The BIOS settings that can be applied are boot order and CPU settings. For details about the supported BIOS settings, see Supported BIOS settings. For a boot order reference, see Server boot order reference.
  • Add a BIOS template. For details, see Creating a BIOS template.
  • The boot order devices mentioned in the BIOS template are available on the compute node. Verify the boot order list on the Compute > BIOS > Summary page.
  • Place the compute node in maintenance mode.
  1. Browse to the compute node where you want to apply BIOS settings.
  2. Click the compute tile, and select BIOS > Summary > Apply BIOS Settings.
  3. From the BIOS Template list, select a BIOS template, and then click Submit.
Note: The compute node is rebooted after applying the BIOS settings. By default, the compute node powers off with an orderly shutdown, which initiates OS shutdown before the system powers off. Wait for a few minutes before checking the updated BIOS settings.
  4. Exit the compute node from maintenance mode.
Note: When you apply the default template on HA800 series server models, verify that the boot order devices mentioned in the template are available on the server.
