You can apply BIOS settings to multiple compute nodes of the same model type by using a template.

  • The boot order devices mentioned in the BIOS template are available on the compute nodes. Verify the boot order list on the Compute > BIOS > Summary page.
  • Place the compute nodes in maintenance mode.
  1. Create a BIOS template. See Creating a BIOS template.
  2. Browse to Systems > UCP System > Compute.
  3. Select the Tile view to view all the compute nodes for that UCP system.
  4. Select the compute nodes for which you want to apply the BIOS settings, and click the Bulk Apply BIOS Settings icon.

Apply BIOS settings to multiple compute nodes of the same model.

Note: You can apply the BIOS settings in bulk only to similar server model types. For example, you can apply the BIOS settings in bulk to the following server model type groups:
    • DS120, DS220, DS225, DS240
    • DS120 G2, DS220 G2
    • HA810/ HA820 G2, and HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825 G3
  5. Select the template from the Select BIOS Settings list, and click Submit.
    Note:
    • The BIOS settings are applied in a batch of 5 compute nodes.
    • If you notice the following error when applying the BIOS settings, reset the BMC. See Resetting the BMC of a single compute node. If the compute nodes are powered off, power them back on before resetting the BMC.
Unable to apply BIOS template 115_Template with BMC address <BMC_address_of_the_server>.
Redfish service is not available. Please try again later.
If error persists, please perform a BMC reset.”
  6. Exit the compute nodes from maintenance mode.
