Editing Active Directory settings

You can edit the BMC settings for Active Directory (AD) on individual servers, or on multiple servers simultaneously. You can also disable AD for selected servers.

1. Browse to the UCP system where you want to edit the AD settings for one or more servers, and then click Compute.
2. Select the servers, and then click the Edit BMC Settings icon.
3. From the Select BMC setting to change list, select AD settings.
   The Selected Servers table lists the current AD settings for each server.

   Note: Retrieving Active Directory server information is a time-intensive operation, particularly if you select a large number of servers. If it seems to be taking too much time, try the operation with a fewer number of servers.

   
   

   

   
   
4. Edit the AD settings, as needed, or you can click Disable AD to disable AD on the selected servers.

   Username

   The AD username.

   The username is case-sensitive, must be between 1 and 64 alphanumeric characters, must begin with an alphabetical character, and cannot contain a space or special characters.

   Password

   The AD password.

   The password must be at least six characters long and cannot contain a space.

   Domain Controller Servers

   The list of AD domain controller server IP addresses. You must enter at least one domain controller server IP address for each server type.

   Note: However, you can enter more than one domain controller server IP address, in IPv4 or IPv6 format for DS120, DS220, DS225, DS240, and DS120/DS220 G2 servers.

   For HA800 G2/G3 series server models, you can enter the IP address in IPv4, IPv6, or FQDN format.

   Group Domain

   The AD group domain address.

   Note: The group domain and the user domain must be identical. For DSxxx server models, it should be in the mydomain.com format, and for the HA800 G2/G3 series server models, it should be in the dc=domain,dc=com format.

   Group Name

   The AD group name.

   Group Privilege

   The AD group privilege. Select: User, Operator, Administrator, or None. See Active Directory group privileges

   Note: Only the Administrator group privilege is supported on HA810/HA820 G2 and HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825/ HA840 G3 server models.

   User Domain

   The AD user domain address.

   Note: The following AD settings are not supported on HA810/HA820 G2 and HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825/ HA840 G3 server models: Username, Group Name, and User Domain.
5. Click Submit.
