The compute inventory view displays general information and management operations for the compute nodes in the UCP system inventory.

To view the compute inventory, browse to the UCP system where you want to view the inventory, and then select Compute.
  • Click the List or Tile icons to change the inventory view.

    In Tile view, the following general information for each compute node is displayed:
    Model
    The model name of the compute device.
    Serial
    The serial number of the compute device.
    BIOS
    The version of the BIOS installed on the compute device.
    Firmware
    The firmware installed on the compute device.
    BMC Address
    The BMC IP address or host name for the compute device.
    BMC MAC
    The BMC MAC address for the compute device.
    Host Address
    The IP address or host name for the host.
    CPLD Version
    The CPLD version for the compute device.
    Label
    The label for the compute device.
    Node Type
    The type of compute device: Compute or Management.
    Subscriber ID
    The subscriber ID tagged to the compute device.
  • In List view, the following additional general information for each compute node is displayed:

    Host OS
    The operating system installed on the host.
    BIOS/BMC/CPLD Firmware
    The BIOS, BMC, and CPLD firmware versions installed on the compute device.
    Server Tags
    The tags assigned to the compute device.
    Power Status
    The power status of the server.

From the Actions menu in the Tile view or List view for a compute device, click Refresh to refresh the compute device information.

To refresh the compute device list of a UCP system, click the Refresh Compute Devices icon.

Click any compute device tile to display summary and component information through various tabs. For example, the summary tab displays the current state and location of the compute device, the version numbers of its software components, the state of its hardware components, and any related alerts. The component tabs display information about the compute hardware, such as location, model name and manufacturer, operation parameters, and status. You can also view vSAN datastore information and event logs associated with the compute device.

The additional management actions enable you to refresh the compute device information, set boot options, power-off/power-on servers, reset the power, reset the BMC, edit the BMC password, replace a server, upgrade firmware, and launch a remote console to perform other administrative tasks.
Note: If you use BMC or iLO to update any component of a compute device, you must manually refresh the compute device for the changes to appear in UCP Advisor. From the Actions menu either in the Tile view or List view, click Refresh.

The following summary and component information is displayed for each compute node:
Model
The model name of the compute device.
Serial
The serial number of the compute device.
Address
The Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) IP address or host name for the compute device.
MAC Address
The BMC MAC address for the compute device.
Firmware Version
The BMC firmware version installed on the compute device.
BIOS Version
The BIOS version installed on the compute device.
CPLD Version
The version of the Complex Programmable Logic Device (CPLD) firmware installed on the compute device.
Note: This information is not displayed for HA800 G2/G3 series server models as it is not supported.
Chipset
The chipset used by the compute device.
Note: The chipset is displayed as N/A for the DS120/DS220 G2 and HA800 G2/G3 series server models as it is not supported.
Number of CPUs
The number of CPUs used by the compute device.
Number of GPUs
The number of graphical processing units (GPUs) used by the compute device.
Note:
  • The latest version of the NVIDIA driver is required to obtain GPU memory information.
  • This information is listed only for DS120/ DS220, DS120/DS220 G2, DS225, and DS240 server models.
  • For GPU cards on PCIe slots, the number is displayed only when a compute device is onboarded with the host address.
Subscriber ID
The subscriber ID tagged to the compute device.
DCPMM
The status of the data-centric persistent memory module (DPMM): Present, N/A.
Note: This information is listed as Present if it is installed on the server or N/A if it is not available on the server. This information is listed only for DS120/ DS220, DS120/DS220 G2, DS225, and DS240 server models.
Total Memory
The total physical memory available to the compute device.
WWN
The unique World Wide Name (WWN) identifier of the compute node.
NQN
A unique NVMe Qualified Names (NQNs) to identify the NVMe device on the compute node
IQN
A unique iSCSI Qualified Names (IQNs) to identify the iSCSI device on the compute node
NIC MAC Address
The Media Access Controller (MAC) address for the Network Interface Controller (NIC).
Host Address
The IP address or host name for the host.
Host OS
The operating system of the compute ESXi host hypervisor.
Host Name
The name of the host operating system. It will only display for hosts that are OS-provisioned by UCP Advisor.
Label
Optional labels you can assign to compute nodes to simplify list filtering.
Remote Syslog Server
The IP address of the vRealize Log Insight instance that you have attached to the UCP system.
vCenter
The vCenter server to which the compute host is assigned.
Datacenter
The datacenter where the compute ESXi host resides.
Cluster
The cluster to which the compute ESXi host is assigned.
Tags
Optional tags you can assign to compute nodes to simplify list filtering.
Onboard Status
The current onboard status of a compute node: Maintenance, Onboarded, Not Onboarded, Locked, Updated, Unrecognized Device, Unreachable, Normal, ERROR, Onboarding.
Hard Disk Status
The current status of the hard disk used: Normal, Standby, Busy, Disabled, N/A, Unknown, Absent, Degraded, Exceeds Threshold, Critical, Fault.
Temperature Status
The current status of the temperature: Normal, Standby, Busy, Disabled, N/A, Unknown, Absent, Degraded, Exceeds Threshold, Critical, Fault.
Voltage Status
The current status of the voltage: Normal, Standby, Busy, Disabled, N/A, Unknown, Absent, Degraded, Exceeds Threshold, Critical, Fault.
Note: This information is not displayed for HA800 G2/G3 series server models.
Fan Status
The current status of the fan: Normal, Standby, Busy, Disabled, N/A, Unknown, Absent, Degraded, Exceeds Threshold, Critical, Fault.
Processor Status
The current status of the CPU: Normal, Standby, Busy, Disabled, N/A, Unknown, Absent, Degraded, Exceeds Threshold, Critical, Fault.
Power Supply Status
The current status of the power supply: Normal, Standby, Predictive Failure, Input Lost, Disabled, N/A, Unknown, Absent, Degraded, Exceeds Threshold, Critical, Fault.

From the various tabs, you can access the following component information:

  • BMC: this view shows the AD settings, NTP settings, SNMP, and SNMPv3 settings.
    Note:
    • Edit SNMP settings is not applicable on DS120/DS220 G2 server models.
    • Edit NTP settings is not supported on HA810/ HA820 G2 and HA805/HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825 G3 server models.
    • The Refresh BMC details icon refreshes only the AD, SNMP, and SNMPv3 settings. The NTP settings are not refreshed.

  • BIOS: The Summary tab shows the existing boot settings and CPU settings. Using the Apply BIOS Settings option, you can apply the BIOS settings according to a template.

    The BIOS Template tab displays the default and existing BIOS templates. Using the Create BIOS Template option, you can create a new BIOS template. Additional operations, such as Edit BIOS Template, Clone BIOS Template, and Delete BIOS Template options are available from the Actions menu.

  • CPU

  • GPU
    Note:
    • The NVIDIA GPU VIB (vSphere Installation Bundle) must be installed and configured on the ESXi host to display the GPU memory information.
    • The GPU details for the PCIe slots of the compute device are displayed only when the compute device is onboarded with ESXi.

  • FRU
    Note: The Date of Manufacture is not displayed for the DS120/ DS220, DS120/DS220 G2, DS225, and DS240 server models.

  • Fan

  • Temperature

  • Voltage

    Note: This feature is not supported on the following compute nodes: HA810/HA820 G2, HA805/HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825/HA840 G3.
  • Memory

  • I/O Cards
    • Note:
      • The I/O cards on HA810/HA820 G2 and HA805/HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825/HA840 G3 server models are automatically discovered when you onboard the servers.
      • You must discover the I/O cards to view the I/O card details for DS120/ DS220, DS120/DS220 G2, DS225, and DS240 server models.

  • Local Drives: this view shows system drives and RAID drives.
    Note:
    • Drives connected to SAS Controller (SAS Drives) or NVMe drives are not supported.
    • This feature is partially supported on HA810 G2 and HA820 G2 - the view only shows RAID drives and not system drives for these servers.
    • Faulty drives are not displayed.

  • Power Metrics: this view displays the power consumption summary for the HA800 series server models. It also displays the power consumption over the last 24 hours in a graphical format.

    The graphical data and the summary data may differ because the graphical data only covers a 20-minute time period. If the power consumption increases between intervals, the graph will not show the change. The graph generates data every 20 minutes only.

    The data is automatically refreshed every 20 minutes. After you onboard a HA800 G2/G3 series server models. You must wait for a maximum of 20 minutes to view the power consumption details.
    Note: This feature is not supported on the DS120/ DS220, DS120/DS220 G2, DS225, and DS240 server models.

  • vSAN Datastores: this view shows Host Config, Datastore, Physical Storage Devices, and Other Storage Devices.
    Note: The vSAN Datastores information is populated only when the vSAN configuration is enabled on a compute server that is onboarded with ESXi details. The vCenter must be attached to the UCP system to populate the vSAN Datastores information.

  • Events: This tab displays the events logged in the BMC of the compute device. Using the Filter icon you can filter the events by description, severity, and timestamp.

    Note: For HA800 G2/G3 series server models, the event are displayed for system board and chassis sensor types.
