Adding vCenter users to UCP Advisor

Any vCenter user who wants to access UCP Advisor in standalone-mode or plugin-mode must be added as a local UCP Advisor user and be assigned a UCP Advisor role.

  1. Click Settings > Manage Users.
  2. On the Local Users tab, click Add Users.
  3. Enter the following information:

    Username
    Enter the username of the vCenter user that you want to add. The username must be identical to the user's vCenter username. For example, <user>@<domain>.
    Note: You can also add the Active Directory with LDAP or LDAPS that is registered in vCenter. If you add Active Directory with LDAP or LDAPS, verify that you add the appropriate UCP Advisor roles for individual Active Directory with LDAP or LDAPS users or groups. For details on adding Active Directory with LDAP or LDAPS, see Adding an identity source.
    Password
    Enter the password for the vCenter user. The password must be identical to the user's vCenter password.
    Confirm Password
    Confirm the password for the vCenter user.
    First Name
    (Optional) Enter the first name of the vCenter user.
    Last Name
    (Optional) Enter the last name of the vCenter user.
    Select one or more roles
    Select one or more UCP Advisor roles that you want to assign to the vCenter user.
    Select Groups
    Select one or more groups that you want to assign to the vCenter user.
  4. Click Submit.
