Accessing the UCP Advisor plugin

If the UCP Advisor plugin is integrated with VMware, you access UCP Advisor via the VMware vSphere Client.

Note: To access the UCP Advisor plugin in Chrome's Incognito mode, you must enable the Allow third-party cookies option under Privacy and security settings in the Chrome browser.

With UCP Advisor in standalone-mode:

  1. Log on to VMware vSphere Client using your vCenter credentials in the following format: <user>@<domain>.
  2. From either the vSphere Client navigator pane or the main menu, select UCP Advisor.
  3. At the certificate warning prompt, click the "here" hyperlink to accept the UCP Advisor REST API certificate.
    A new browser tab will open and load the UCP Advisor REST API Swagger user interface.

  4. Return to the UCP Advisor browser window and refresh it to load the UCP Advisor login page.
  5. Log on to UCP Advisor using your credentials.
    The initial Overview tab is displayed showing the physical location of your UCP systems, the health status of your UCP systems and devices, and the last ten tasks.

    From the main menu, click Systems to display your UCP systems in Tile view.



    In most cases, the UCP systems and devices required by your site are already registered and onboarded during the predeployment configuration. If you do not see the systems that you expect, or if you want to add a new one, see Adding a UCP system .

    If you want to onboard additional devices, see Automatically adding devices using an onboarding worksheet or Manually adding devices.

    • Click a system tile or select one from the Systems menu to view its details and to access system-level actions, such as onboarding, configuring Gateway host user credentials, viewing the system summary, updating firmware, and backing up switches.

    • Click the icon for the type of device that you want to access, or select it from its corresponding menu. A list of the available devices of that type is shown. The following is an example of a list of compute devices:

    • Click the tile for the specific device that you want to access to see the summary information for that device. Additional actions are available according to the device type. The following is an example of summary information for a compute device:
