Synchronizing a VLAN trunk range to an Ethernet switch

You can copy a VLAN range from a VMware distributed virtual switch to a UCP switch device.

Note: VLAN synchronization is supported for Cisco Nexus 9000 Series switches only.
  • Verify that vCenter is registered and attached to the UCP system.
  • Configure the vSphere distributed switch in vCenter for VLAN synchronization.
    Note: VLAN synchronization requires login to UCP Advisor using a vCenter Admin user.
  • Verify that the selected hosts are part of the distributed switch.
  • Enable LLDP for the distributed switch.
  • Verify that the selected ESXi hosts have a VMware vSphere Enterprise Plus license.
  • Onboard all compute devices to the UCP system along with their ESXi details.
  • Onboard all Ethernet switches to the UCP system.
  1. Browse to the UCP system where you want to synchronize a VLAN trunk range to an Ethernet switch, then click Sync VLAN.
  2. Select one or more hosts.
  3. Click Get Host VLAN Info.
  4. Verify the information.
    Note: Refresh the page to load the latest host VLAN information.
  5. Click Submit.
