An onboarding worksheet is a .CSV file containing all the required information for the devices that you want to onboard. Using this worksheet, you can onboard all your devices in a single operation.
You can create your own onboarding worksheet from the sample provided in the installation media kit, or you can create one independently. The number of columns and the column names must exactly match those in the sample onboarding worksheet. List all the information per device on a single row. Leave blank for entries not pertaining to a specific device type. After you create an onboarding worksheet, you can onboard your devices in a single operation. The onboarding worksheet contains the following device information:
- deviceType
- (Required) The types of devices that you want to onboard. Enter one of the following for each device (case-sensitive): Compute, ethernet, fibreChannel, Storage, virtualization.
- deviceTags
- (Optional) Tags assigned to the device for filtering; separate multiple tags with a comma.
- deviceLabel
- (Optional) Labels assigned to the device for easier recognition; separate multiple labels with a comma.
- deviceAddress
- (Required) The address or host name for the device. The BMC IP address or host name for compute devices, the IP address for storage systems and Fibre Channel switches, or the IP address or FQDN for Ethernet switches.
- username
- (Required) The device username.
- password
- (Required) The device password.
- storageSerialNo
- (Required) The storage system serial number.
- virtualizationType
- (Required) The type of virtualization platform, such as VMware.
- hypervisorAddress
- (Required) The ESXi host address.
- hypervisorUsername
- (Required) The ESXi host username.
- hypervisorPassword
- (Required) The ESXi host password.
- hypervisorBmcAddress
- (Optional) The ESXi BMC address.
- isManagement
- (Optional) Enter TRUE to identify a compute node or Ethernet switch as a management device; otherwise, leave blank.
- virtualizationManagementAddress
- (Optional) The vCenter IP address. Although optional, it is required if you want to register the vCenter in UCP Advisor.
- virtualizationUserName
- (Optional) The vCenter username.
- virtualizationPassword
- (Optional) The vCenter password.
- ucpGatewayAddress
- (Optional) The IP address or host name for the UCP Advisor Gateway VM. Although optional, it is required if you want to onboard devices to the Infrastructure Spare Pool.
