You can create and present multiple volumes to a host.

Note: Verify that a vCenter is registered and attached to the UCP system.
  1. Browse to the storage system where you want to create and present multiple volumes.
  2. Select Create & Present Multiple Volumes.
  3. Enter the following:
    Note: IP addresses for compute nodes in Onboarding or Error state are not listed.
    Storage Pool
    Select the storage pool where the volumes are to be created.
    Capacity Saving
    (Optional) Select the type of capacity saving that you want to enable on the volumes:
    • Disabled
    • Compression
    • Deduplication & Compression

    The capacity saving option is only available for storage systems with a Deduplication & Compression license that is installed and enabled.

    For deduplication to be enabled, the deduplication feature must be enabled for a Dynamic Provisioning pool where the volume belongs.

    Number of Volumes
    Enter the number of volumes you want to create.
    Volumes Name Prefix
    (Optional) Enter a prefix for the name of the volume.
    Initial Volume Number
    (Optional) Enter the initial number for the first volume. The remaining volumes will be numbered sequentially thereafter.
    Compute Address
    Select one or more compute addresses.
    Resource Group
    (Optional) Select a resource group.
    Note: Creating and presenting multiple volumes on VSM is not supported.
    Total Capacity
    Enter the total capacity for the volumes.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. Click the Refresh icon to update the list information.
    Note: The zone verification task runs in parallel and as a separate task with the CreateAndPresentLunToHost task.
