You can provision, expand, delete, attach, detach, mount, and unmount datastores. You can also enable TrueCopy replication and GAD replication.
Complete the following vCenter-related tasks before you perform any datastore operation.
- Register vCenter. See Registering vCenter.
- Attach vCenter to UCP system. See Attaching a vCenter to a UCP system
- Add vCenter user as a local UCP Advisor user or add Active Directory and grant the ucpAdmin role. See Adding vCenter users to UCP Advisor
- Log on to UCP Advisor with valid vCenter credentials.
- Browse to the storage system where you want to manage datastores.
- Select Datastores.Tip:
Use the Filter icon to filter the list, as well as sort it by column.
Use the Refresh icon to refresh the information.
Refreshing vCenter requires a ucpAdmin role.
Note:
- NVM Subsystems are available on VSP 5200, 5600, 5200H, 5600H, VSP E1090, VSP E1090H, VSP 5500, and VSP 5500H storage systems only.
- Expanding a datastore is not supported for NVMe datastores.
The following information is displayed in the datastore inventory:
- Name
- The name of the datastore.
- Volume ID
- The volume ID of the datastore.
- ESXi Host
- The IP address or the host name of the ESXi host where the datastore is located.
- Allocated Capacity
- The amount of allocated space in the datastore.
- Free Capacity
- The amount of available space remaining in the datastore.
- Total Capacity
- The total used space and free space in the datastore.
- Mount Status
- The mount status of the datastore.
- Type
- The type of datastore.
- Protocol
- The protocol of the datastore - NVME or SCSI.
- Capacity Saving
- The capacity saving of the datastore.
- ALUA
- The ALUA mode of the datastore.
