You can create a new Virtual Machine File System (VMFS) datastore to create a logical container for virtual machine files. When creating a datastore, UCP Advisor automatically creates an associated logical unit on the storage system. If you delete the datastore, you must also delete its associated logical unit.
You can configure a datastore from the datastore storage tab.
- Complete all the vCenter-related tasks. See Managing datastores.
- Verify that a vCenter is registered and attached to the UCP system.
- Onboard the storage device to the UCP Advisor inventory.
- Configure the storage device zoning and host groups.
- Configure NVM subsystem and host groups for NVMe-oF based datastore.
- Add the host to the vCenter server.
- Add the vCenter to UCP Advisor.
