You can attach an existing datastore to one or more hosts in a cluster or datacenter.

  • Complete all the vCenter-related tasks. See Managing datastores.
  • Verify that a vCenter is registered and attached to the UCP system.
  • Create host groups for the hosts in the cluster or datacenter.
  • Configure the zoning.
  • Verify that a consistent LUN ID is available on the target host.
  1. Browse to the storage system where you want to attach a datastore.
  2. Select Datastores > Attach.
  3. Enter the following:
    Storage System
Select a storage system from the list.
    Datastore
Select the datastore that you want to attach from the list.
Note: You can select only one datastore.
    Select Hosts
Select the hosts or clusters, and then click Advanced Options to select the specific host groups for the selected hosts.
    Note:

Click the Refresh icon to refresh the host or cluster information.

Refreshing vCenter requires a ucpAdmin role.

Note: ESXi hosts for compute nodes in Onboarding or Error state are not listed.
  4. Click Submit.
Note: The zone verification task runs in parallel and as a separate task with the attach datastore task.
