You can attach an existing datastore to one or more hosts in a cluster or datacenter.
- Complete all the vCenter-related tasks. See Managing datastores.
- Verify that a vCenter is registered and attached to the UCP system.
- Create host groups for the hosts in the cluster or datacenter.
- Configure the zoning.
- Verify that a consistent LUN ID is available on the target host.
- Browse to the storage system where you want to attach a datastore.
- Select .
- Enter the following:
- Storage System
- Select a storage system from the list.
- Datastore
- Select the datastore that you want to attach from the list.
Note: You can select only one datastore.
- Select Hosts
- Select the hosts or clusters, and then click Advanced Options to select the specific host groups for the selected hosts.
Note:
Click the Refresh icon to refresh the host or cluster information.
Refreshing vCenter requires a ucpAdmin role.
Note: ESXi hosts for compute nodes in Onboarding or Error state are not listed.
- Click Submit.
Note: The zone verification task runs in parallel and as a separate task with the attach datastore task.
