The I/O cards are automatically discovered when you onboard the HA810/HA820 G2 and HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825 G3 servers to a UCP system; however, you can also manually discover new I/O cards.
Note:
- I/O card discovery is not supported on HA840 G3 server model.
- I/O card discovery is also supported on bare metal servers.
- Upload the firmware bundle. See Uploading firmware.
- Verify that the servers have been onboarded with either the BMC details, or with both the BMC and ESXi details.
- Verify that BMC port 443 on the servers is open and accessible to the Master Node and Worker Node VMs.
- Browse to the UCP system where you want to discover the I/O cards, and then click Compute.
- Select one or more HA810 /HA820 G2 or HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825 G3 servers, and then click the Discover I/O cards icon.
- Select the discovery method: Parallel or Sequential. The default selection is Parallel.
- Enter Submit, and then click Submit.
The I/O card discovery process on HA810/HA820 G2 and HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825 G3 servers is non-disruptive; the servers are not powered-off and not placed in Maintenance mode. You can monitor the status of the discovery process from the Tasks console.
Note:
- When I/O card discovery is sequentially initiated for multiple servers, some I/O card discovery tasks for a subsequent server may start before the task for the previous server has completed.
- The I/O card discovery for HA810/HA820 G2 and HA805/ HA810/HA815/HA820/HA825 G3 servers does not populate the following fields: “TYPE”, “VENDOR”, “ESXI”, and “Upgrade Available”.
All the discovered I/O cards are displayed on the I/O Cards tab for each server, respectively.
