If you are using UCP Advisor in standalone-mode, you access UCP Advisor directly by entering the UCP Advisor Master Node VM IP address into the address bar of a web browser.
If you are a VMware user, you can still access UCP Advisor in standalone-mode to perform any vCenter-related operations, but you must be added as a local user with a username and password that is identical to your VMware username and password. For more information, see Role-based access control.
- Verify that you are a member of a user group that has been assigned a UCP Advisor role with UCP Advisor privileges.
- In the address bar of a web browser, enter the UCP Advisor Master Node IP address.
- Enter your username and password, and then click Log In.The initial dashboard is displayed showing the physical location of your UCP systems. Click any system to open it.
From the main menu, click Systems to display your UCP systems in Tile view.
In most cases, the UCP systems and devices required by your site will already be registered and onboarded during the predeployment configuration. If you do not see the systems that you expect, or if you want to add new ones, see Adding a UCP system.
If you want to onboard additional devices, see Automatically adding devices using an onboarding worksheet or Manually adding devices.
- Click a system tile or select one from the Systems menu to view its details and to access system-level actions, such as onboarding, configuring Gateway host user credentials, viewing the system summary, updating firmware, and backing up switches.
- Click the icon for the type of device that you want to access, or select it from the Systems menu. A list of the available devices of that device type for the system is shown. The following is an example of the compute devices in system SV-UCP80:
- Click the tile for the specific device that you want to access to see the summary information for that device. Additional actions are available according to the device type. The following is an example of the summary information for a compute device:
Note:- The UCP Advisor UI displays ten rows by default for tasks, events, and other information. However, you can change the number of rows that you want to display per page.
- You will be logged out of UCP Advisor if the session is inactive for two hours.
- Click a system tile or select one from the Systems menu to view its details and to access system-level actions, such as onboarding, configuring Gateway host user credentials, viewing the system summary, updating firmware, and backing up switches.
