The local groups resource provides management for additional security group membership stored locally on the storage system.
Local security group API calls don't allow new users or groups to be created, but allows the membership relationship between existing users and groups to be augmented. Unix users and groups can be added to Windows groups, and Windows users and groups can be added to Unix groups.
Local security groups are either stored in the global security context or if a virtual server is configured with an individual security context, the groups are stored with the virtual server.
