- If a storage system is listed in the Currently Supported Offerings column for the specified Hitachi NAS Platform server model, it is properly recognized and effectively managed by the servers.
- Systems not appearing in the supported list may be recognized by the server, but normal server functionality is limited and may result in data availability or system stability issues. Refer to the system event log or trouble report for information.
- Unsupported storage systems must never be connected to Hitachi NAS Platform servers.

- For external storage virtualized using the Universal Volume Manager (UVM), consult the current UVM matrix for supported storage systems.
- Prior generations of Hitachi Vantara storage systems support classic Parity Group based RAID Levels 5, 6 and 1+0. However, modern storage systems such as VSP One B20 series support Dynamic Drive Protection (DDP) in RAID 5 and 6; and VSP One Block 85, when available.
VSP One Block 85 support for NAS Platform Series 5000and VSP One File 32 systems
Beginning with NAS OS v15.6, NAS Platform Series 5000 and VSP One File 32 systems support VSP One Block 85 (Block High End (BHE)) connectivity through supported migration and virtualization workflows, although direct attachment of a BHE to a NAS Platform Series 5000 or VSP One File 32 system is not supported.
NAS OS v15.6 introduces the ability to interpret target port WWNs through the scsi-racks command, enabling the server to identify the underlying storage array model. To present BHE storage to NAS Platform Series 5000 or VSP One File 32 system, configure a non-hybrid VSP 5000 series Virtual Storage Machine (VSM) on the BHE array. Because both VSP 5000 series and VSP One Block 85 are all-flash arrays, NAS OS treats them equivalently and no functional differences exist when using a VSP 5000 series VSM representation.
Supported deployment scenarios include GAD-based migrations from VSP 5600 arrays, creation of a VSP 5000 series VSM on a BHE array with volumes presented through that virtualized representation, and Data-in-Place (DIP) controller refresh operations that retain the existing virtual array identity.
