The following provides an example for collecting only volume information on the side of the active subchannel set, when multiple subchannel sets are used and the secondary volume of the copy pair exists in the alternate subchannel set. If the active subchannel set is swapped to an alternate subchannel set by HyperSwap, the volumes whose information is to be collected are also swapped to the side of the alternate subchannel set.

In this example, among the volumes in subchannel set 0 and subchannel set 1, only information about the volume in the active subchannel set is collected. However, information about the volumes (device number: 3001) that exist in subchannel set 0 only is always collected, even if the active subchannel set is swapped.

To acquire the disk configurations for the volumes in subchannel set 0 and subchannel set 1, execute the disk configuration acquisition program.
If you specify the SCHSET(ALL) parameter, information is acquired from all subchannel sets.

The disk configuration definition files (USER01.DSK.SN53038.LOCAL and USER01.DSK.SN53039.LOCAL) are created.
Create metric collection parameter files before and after the subchannel set is swapped.
- The parameter file (RSPARM00) before the subchannel set is swapped
  Specify 53038,53039 for SN of the HDA parameter.
  
  Specify 0 for ACTSS of the LDEVFILT parameter. By doing so, only the volumes in subchannel set 0 are specified to be the targets of acquisition.
  
  Specify the I/O destination devices of subchannel set 0 and subchannel set 1 for IODEVN of the SET parameter.

- The parameter file (RSPARM01) after the subchannel set is swapped
  Specify 53038,53039 for SN of the HDA parameter.
  
  Specify 1 for ACTSS of the LDEVFILT parameter. By doing so, the volumes in subchannel set 1 are specified to be the targets of collection. However, if there is no volume (DEVN:3001) in subchannel set 1, volumes in subchannel set 0 are the targets of collection.
  
  Specify the I/O destination devices of subchannel set 0 and subchannel set 1 for IODEVN of the SET parameter.

Start the metric collection program by using the parameter file (RSPARM00).

Volume information of subchannel set 0 is collected.
If the active subchannel set is swapped to subchannel set 1, use the REFRESH command to change the parameter file to RSPARM01.

Information about the volumes in subchannel set 1 and information about the volumes that exist in subchannel set 0 only is collected.
