The following is an example of how to specify DEVN to collect information about some volumes in the disk configuration definition file.

In this example, the performance information of some volumes (DEVN: 2000 to 3FFF) among the volumes (DEVN: 3000 to 3FFF) in the disk configuration definition file (USER01.DSK.SN53038.LOCAL) is collected.

  1. Execute the disk configuration acquisition program to acquire the disk configuration for the storage system (SN: 53038).
    • Parameters input from the SYSIN:
      PREFIX(USER01)
      DEVN(2000:3FFF)

The disk configuration definition file (USER01.DSK.SN53038.LOCAL) is created.
  2. Create a metric collection parameter file.
    • For the HDA parameter, specify PREFIX(USER01) and SN(53038), which are values used to identify the disk configuration definition file. For the DEVN of the LDEVFILT parameter, specify 3000:3FFF to narrow down the scope.
      INTERVAL INTVAL(15) SYNCVAL(00)
      METRIC LDEV MPU PGRP PORT
      HDA PREFIX(USER01) SN(53038)
      LDEVFILT DEVN(3000:3FFF)
      SET IODEVN(2000) RTYPE(191)

  3. Start the metric collection program.
    S RSSTC001.RS1

Notes

If you narrow down the scope by specifying SMS storage group names in step 2 (if you specify STORGRP for the LDEVFILT parameter in step 2), you must perform a scan with the applicable SMS storage group names specified in step 1.
