The following is an example of how to exclude volumes that were deleted from the system from the collection targets.

In this example, the collection target volumes (DEVN: 4000 to 4FFF) that were deleted from the storage system (SN: 53038) are excluded from the collection targets.

  • Deleting volumes from the storage system
  1. Delete the disk configuration definition file (USER01.DSK.SN53038.LOCAL) for the storage system (SN: 53038) from which the volumes were deleted.
  2. Execute the disk configuration acquisition program to reacquire the disk configuration for the storage system (SN: 53038).
    • Parameters input from the SYSIN:
      PREFIX(USER01)
      DEVN(2000:3FFF)
The disk configuration definition file (USER01.DSK.SN53038.LOCAL) is created.
  3. Use the REFRESH command to update the metric collection environment.
    F RS1,RE
Changes to the metric collection environment are applied from the next interval after metric collection for the current interval finishes.
Tip: Because the disk configuration definition file was re-created, information about the deleted volumes will be not collected even if you do not change the settings of metric collection parameters.
Tip: You do not need to re-create the disk configuration definition file if you use the metric collection parameter LDEVFILT to exclude the deleted volumes from the collection scope.
