The following is an example of how to add volumes that are not included in the disk configuration definition file to the collection targets.

In this example, the volumes (DEVN: 4000 to 4FFF) that are not included in the disk configuration definition file are added to the collection targets.

This example assumes that the collection scope is not narrowed down by using the LDEVFILT parameter.

  1. Execute the disk configuration acquisition program to acquire the disk configurations for the volumes (DEVN: 4000 to 4FFF).
    • Parameters input from SYSIN:
      PREFIX(USER01)
      DEVN(4000:4FFF)

    Information about the volumes (DEVN: 4000 to 4FFF) is added to the disk configuration definition file (USER01.DSK.SN53038.LOCAL).

  2. Use the REFRESH command to update the metric collection environment.
    F RS1,RE
    Changes to the metric collection environment are applied from the next interval after metric collection for the current interval finishes.
Tip:

Because the disk configuration definition file has been updated, information about the added volumes is collected even if you do not change the settings of metric collection parameters.

However, if the collection scope is narrowed down by using the LDEVFILT parameter, you must change metric collection parameters between steps 1 and 2. Add 4000:4FFF to the DEVN of the LDEVFILT parameter.
LDEVFILT DEVN(2001:3FFF)  ->  LDEVFILT DEVN(2001:4FFF)
