The following is an example of how to add a storage system to the collection targets.

In this example, the volumes of the storage system (SN: 53039) are added to the collection targets.

This example assumes that the collection scope has not been narrowed down by using the LDEVFILT parameter.

  1. Execute the disk configuration acquisition program to acquire the disk configuration for the storage system (SN: 53039).
    • Parameters input from the SYSIN:
      PREFIX(USER01)
      DEVN(5000:5FFF)

    The disk configuration definition file (USER01.DSK.SN53039.LOCAL) is created.

  2. Change the settings of the metric collection parameters.
    • Add the storage system 53039 to SN of the HDA parameter. Add the I/O destination device 5000 to IODEVN of the SET parameter.
      HDA PREFIX(USER01) SN(53038)
                        ->  HDA PREFIX(USER01) SN(53038,53039)
      SET IODEVN(2000)  ->  SET IODEVN(2000,5000)
  3. Use the REFRESH command to update the metric collection environment.
    F RS1,RE
    Changes to the metric collection environment are applied from the next interval after metric collection for the current interval finishes.
Tip: If the collection scope is narrowed down by using the LDEVFILT parameter, add 5000:5FFF to DEVN of the LDEVFILT parameter in step 2.
LDEVFILT DEVN(2001:3FFF)  ->  LDEVFILT DEVN(2001:3FFF,5001:5FFF)
