Execute the metric collection program to start the metric collection.
  • Acquiring the disk configuration
  • Creating a metric collection parameter file
  1. Change the cataloged procedure for startup of the metric collection program that was registered in PROCLIB during installation.
    Change information, such as the name of the metric collection parameter file and the member name, to match the environment.
  2. Execute the cataloged procedure for startup of the metric collection program. 
    S name-of-the-cataloged-procedure-for-startup.identifier-name
    Metric collection starts.
Note: SMF records are output from the second interval to calculate the differential values between the intervals.
Tip: After metric collection starts, use the following SMF records count display command to check whether the SMF records are output.
