Program name

JYTCMAIN

Function

Scans the volumes in the specified scope of device numbers, volume serial numbers, or SMS storage groups, and then stores information about the detected volumes in the disk configuration definition file. Use the SYSIN parameters to specify the scan scope. If a disk configuration definition file with the same name already exists, information about the scanned volumes will be merged into the existing disk configuration definition file.

Syntax

//EXEC PGM=JYTCMAIN,PARM='[VOLUME(volser)][,SPACE(quantity,increment)]'

Parameters

If you omit the VOLUME parameter, the volume where the disk configuration definition file is stored will be automatically determined. If you omit the SPACE parameter, the size that is allocated to the disk configuration definition file will be automatically determined.

VOLUME(volser) ~ <6 or fewer alphanumeric characters>

Volume where the disk configuration definition file to be allocated. The VOLUME parameter is enabled only when the disk configuration definition file is not managed by SMS. You can specify only one volume.

SPACE(quantity,increment) ~ <numeric character>((1 to 16777215))

Size of the primary and secondary allocation amounts that are to be allocated to the disk configuration definition file. Specify the size in units of blocks (4,096 bytes). Specify the SPACE parameter when you want to, for example, minimize the primary allocation size and then compensate for the shortage by using the secondary allocation size.

Return codes

The following table describes the return codes of the disk configuration acquisition program.

Return codes

Meaning

0

Successfully completed. Information about the volumes that were successfully detected was output to the disk configuration definition file.

4

The volumes for which I/O paths could not be used were skipped. Information about the volumes that were successfully detected was output to the disk configuration definition file.

8

  • The program ended without updating the disk configuration definition file because the disk configuration definition file was updated by another user.

  • No volumes were found in the volume detection scope specified by the parameter.

16

  • The program ended due to an invalid parameter.

  • The program ended due to invalid processing.

64

An internal error occurred.
