After you have completed the setup of MAR, check the setup.

Execute the RSINSCHK command, and then check whether the following items have been completed:

  • Whether the READ permission for the profiles defined in the FACILITY class of RACF is assigned to users who execute MAR programs

  • Whether a user SVC has been registered correctly

  1. Execute the RSINSCHK command.
    For the USERID parameter, specify the user ID of the following user: If you omit the USERID parameter, the permissions of the user who executes the RSINSCHK command will be checked.
    • For the permission check of the disk configuration acquisition program, a user who executes the program
    • For the permission check of the metric collection program, a user who is assigned to cataloged procedures for startup

    From the command execution results, confirm that the setup tasks have been performed correctly.

  2. If the return code is other than 0, perform any task that is not complete.

    If the return code of the RSINSCHK command is other than 0, there is a problem with the information specified during setup. Check the command execution results and perform the task that has not been completed.

JCL example

The following shows an example of a JCL used to output the execution results of the RSINSCHK command to SYSTSPRT DD name:

//RSINSCHK JOB
//IEFPROC EXEC PGM=IKJEFT01,REGION=4096K
//SYSTSPRT DD SYSOUT=*
//SYSABEND DD SYSOUT=A
//STEPLIB  DD DSN=HTC1.RS.Vvvrr.LINKLIB,DISP=SHR
//SYSTSIN  DD *
RSINSCHK USERID(USER01)
/*
//

For details about the example of the command output, see the description of the RSINSCHK command.
