From the event logs output by the system logger service to the data stream, you can output the required logs to a dataset by using the event log output tool (RSLOGCP).
  1. Determine the conditions for event logs to be output (start time, end time, and job name).
  2. Create a control statement for RSLOGCP.

    The following shows the format of the SYSIN dataset for specifying a control statement.

    • Dataset format: Sequential dataset in the fixed-length record format

    • Record length: 80 bytes

    • Block length: Any value (multiple of 80)

  3. Create a JCL for RSLOGCP.

    Use the following example to create a JCL for RSLOGCP.

    //YUKON01 JOB
    //       EXEC PGM=RSLOGCP
    //OUTLOG   DD DSN=YUKON.LOG.DATA,DISP=(NEW,KEEP),
    //            RECFM=VB,LRECL=8192,BLKSIZE=32760,
    //            SPACE=(CYL,(100,10)),VOL=SER=WKVL01,UNIT=DASD
    //SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=A
    //SYSIN    DD *
    RANGE STARTTIME(2015/03/24,00:00:00) ENDTIME(2015/03/24,23:59:59)
    SELECT COND(JOBNAME,EQ,'USER01T')
    SELECT COND(JOBNAME,EQ,'USER01')
    /*

  4. Execute RSLOGCP.
