HDLM supports the following virtual environments:

  • Logical partitioning feature available on Hitachi Compute Blade blade servers

  • Xen

    If you choose to use Xen, make sure that HDLM is installed in domain0.

    Note
    • Operation on virtualized hosts and resource publication to guest OSs are supported. For publication methods, see SETTINGS_FOR_KVM=GUID-D7064410-894D-4156-BB74-CDE3A1ECA6BB=1=EN=.html#GUID-D7064410-894D-4156-BB74-CDE3A1ECA6BB. Installation on guest OSs is not supported.

    • Configurations using qcow2 or raw for the file format of virtual devices are supported. However, if you are using raw, you will need to delete "devices" from "cgroup_controllers" in the /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf file.

      The following shows an example of editing the /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf file:

      Before editing:

      #cgroup_controllers = [ "cpu", "devices", "memory", "blkio", "cpuset", "cpuacct" ]

      After editing:

      cgroup_controllers = [ "cpu", "memory", "blkio", "cpuset", "cpuacct" ]
