To check the kernel architecture and the CPU vendor:

HDLM supports hosts that satisfy the requirements listed in Table 1 and are running one of the OS versions listed in the following tables:

  1. Execute the following command to check which kernel architecture is used:

    # uname -m
    x86_64

    The following shows the meaning of the execution result of the uname command:

    i686: IA32 architecture

    x86_64: AMD64/EM64T architecture

  2. Execute the following command to check the vendor of the CPU you are using:

    # cat /proc/cpuinfo
    processor       : 0
    vendor_id       : AuthenticAMD
    cpu family      : 15
    model           : 37
    model name      : AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 252
    stepping        : 1

    Check the vendor_id line. AuthenticAMD is displayed for AMD CPUs, and GenuineIntel is displayed for Intel CPUs.

Note
  • Environments where the secure boot function is enabled are not supported. Do not enable the secure boot function after installing HDLM.

  • If an IP-SAN is used to connect HDLM with a storage system, HDLM is supported on the following OSs:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, 9

    • SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 12, 15

    • Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 7, 8

HDLM supports the following iSCSI initiators that are included in the OS.

  • For Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7, 8, and 9, Oracle Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 7, and 8:

    iscsi-initiator-utils

  • For SUSE LINUX Enterprise Server 12 and 15:

    open-iscsi
