This section describes command formats and operations used for HDLM.

Command format

Enter the command using the following format:
dlnkmgr operation-name [parameter [parameter-value]]
dlnkmgr

The command name.

operation-name

The type of operation entered after dlnkmgr.

parameter

A value required for an operation.

parameter-value

A value required for a parameter.

clear

help

offline

Places offline an online path or paths. For details, see COM_NL_OFFLINE_(PLACES_PATHS_OFFLINE)=GUID-E31AE476-5ECD-4BE5-A0B2-AB86C1074B74=2=EN=.html.

online

Places online an offline path or paths. For details, see COM_MNL_ONLINE_(PLACES_PATHS_ONLINE)=GUID-1465D67A-2343-483F-A2FA-1025E1E82C32=4=EN=.html.

set

Sets the HDLM operating environment. For details, see COM_MNL_SET_(SETS_UP_THE_OPERATING_ENVIRONMENT)=GUID-D5D49D56-5FD4-47C9-B3EF-F783D00A63D0=3=EN=.html.

view

Displays HDLM program information, path information, LU information, and corresponding information about each HDLM device, SCSI device, and LDEV. For details, see COM_MNL_VIEW_(DISPLAYS_INFORMATION)=GUID-311C4B1B-E8E6-4963-9C3C-6D33AD0261DD=3=EN=.html.

add

Dynamically adds a path as an HDLM-management target. For details, see COM_MNL_ADD_(ADDS_A_PATH_DYNAMICALLY)=GUID-C8FE1ED3-F599-4131-ABF3-39EE25BE1F6D=3=EN=.html.

delete

Dynamically deletes a path that is an HDLM-management target. For details, see COM_MNL_DELETE_(DELETES_A_PATH_DYNAMICALLY)=GUID-75833FE0-A21C-4463-BEA9-D2E8B290AA64=3=EN=.html.

refresh

Notes
  • Execute the command as a user with root permissions.

  • To specify a value that contains a space in its parameter, enclose the entire value in double quotes (").

  • Immediately after system startup, access might fail with a KAPL01012-E error because the HDLM manager has not finished starting. If this happens, wait a moment and then run the command again.
