Copy Group is a logical container that manages and organizes replication pairs (P-VOL and S-VOL) between primary and secondary storage systems. It allows administrators to perform replication operations collectively on multiple volume pairs, ensuring consistency and simplifying management.
This chapter describes how to replicate storage volumes by using user-defined custom copy groups in the Replication Custom Resource (CR).
It simplifies replication management by providing the following capabilities:
- Consistency management: Copy groups can be associated with a user-defined CTG-ID.
- Journal management: Copy groups can be linked to a Journal-ID that is separate from storage secrets.
- Replication control: Copy groups can be included in Replication Groups, enabling a single replication operation to be performed collectively on multiple replication pairs within the same copy group.
