Replication group custom resource (CR) represents one to one copy group relationship. The replication operation performed using the replication group CR will apply to all the replication pairs within the copy group managed by the replication group.

Note:
  • Replication group CR must be created at the primary site. Once the replication CR object is created for custom copy group and status of the replication is in Pair state, the replication group CR is triggered automatically at the secondary site.
  • Hitachi recommends that you do not perform replication pair-level operations if the replication pair is part of a copy group that is managed by the parent replication group. To manage replication pairs independently, set the desiredPairState parameter in the Replication Group CR to none on both the primary and secondary sites. This is required as the replication Group CR/ replication CR will periodically monitor the desiredPairState and attempts to reconcile any configuration changes.
  • You cannot add or move an existing replication pair across a copy group. A pair can only be associated with a copy group during its creation.
  • You cannot add any existing copy group name for replication CR object creation that is not created by theReplication Plug-in for Containers.
  • Hitachi recommends using the same replication type, Universal Replicator or TrueCopy, and the same consistency group ID for each replication pairs added to the same copy group. For Universal Replicator, use the same journal ID.
  1. Create a manifest file for the Replication Group in the primary site. Enter:

  2. Create a replication group CR object. Enter:
