The Hitachi storage systems provide different types of connectivity at the same time to support attachment to a variety of host operating systems, including UNIX, Windows, VMware, and Linux servers. This connectivity enables massive consolidation and storage aggregation across disparate platforms. Hitachi storage systems can operate with multi-host applications and host clusters. These storage systems handle very large databases as well as data warehousing and data mining applications that store and retrieve terabytes of data. The storage systems are compatible with most Fibre Channel (FC) host bus adapters (HBAs), iSCSI adapters, and FC-over-Ethernet (FCoE) converged network adapters (CNAs).
