Configure Hitachi Data Protection Suite with VSP One Object

In HDPS, a subclient is a logical container that groups virtual machines for backup and recovery operations. Restore actions are performed from the job history of the subclient. In this task, we will perform an Out-of-Place VM Restore from a subclient using the Command Center.

  1. In the Command Center, navigate to Jobs, and browse to the Job History of the subclient.

  2. Select the desired recovery point date, then click Restore.

  3. Select Full virtual machine, then click View Content.

  4. Select the VMs to restore, then click Restore. To restore all VMs in the subclient, select the Name checkbox, and then click Next.

  5. Select Out of Place, choose the appropriate proxy client that has full access to the destination vCenter, ESXi hosts, and datastores, and then click Next.

  6. Rename the VM display name to identify the restored VMs on the destination Datastore, and then click Next.

  7. Verify and ensure that the below-highlighted restore options are disabled, and then click Next.

  8. After the restore job completes, verify that the restored VMs have been created under the selected host in vCenter.
