Volumes that have a Volume Retention Manager access attribute (for example, read only) can be used as source volumes for migration. However, depending on the access attribute of the target volume, you might not be able to migrate the volume. The following table lists the Volume Retention Manager access attribute combinations of source and target volumes and indicates whether you can migrate the source volume to the target volume.

You can set a Volume Retention Manager access attribute to the Volume Migration source volume or target volume. However, if you set the Read Only attribute or the Protect attribute to the source volume or the target volume, the migration operation might stop or a failure might occur.
You can set all Volume Retention Manager access attributes (Read/Write, Read Only, or Protect) to a reserved volume of Volume Migration.
