When the Compatible Multiplicity Mode option (local replica option No. 5) is disabled, if the copy processing by ShadowImage, ShadowImage for Mainframe, or Volume Migration increases the MP usage rate or the cache write pending rate, you can reduce the load on the storage system by enabling the Compatible Multiplicity Mode option. When you enable this option, the maximum multiplicity of copy processing (maximum number of jobs allowed for concurrent copy processing) by ShadowImage, ShadowImage for Mainframe, and Volume Migration for the storage system is reduced to 126.

You can use CCI to view and manage the local replica options on your storage system.

The settings of the Compatible Multiplicity Mode option are as follows:

Enabled (default)
Sets 126 as the maximum multiplicity of copy processing for the storage system.
Disabled
Sets 253 as the maximum multiplicity of copy processing for the storage system.
