You can assign new pairs or existing pairs to an existing consistency group.
To assign new pairs to an existing consistency group
- Add pair information to the existing configuration definition file B, which consists of pairs in multiple storage systems.
- Copy and create CCI or BCM configuration definition file C.
- Perform the paircreate or YKMAKE operation and register them to configuration definition file C.
To assign existing pairs to an existing consistency group
- Create CCI or BCM configuration definition file A to use with CCI or BCM for pair operations.
- Perform the pairsplit or YKSUSPND operation on pairs that you want to register in the existing CTG with multiple systems. Do this using configuration definition file A.
- Perform the pairresync or YKRESYNC operation without designating a consistency group. Do this using configuration definition file A.
- Perform the pairsplit or YKSUSPND operation again using configuration definition file A.
- Perform the pairsplit or YKSUSPND operation to the existing configuration definition file B, which consists of the pairs in the multiple primary and secondary system configuration.
- Add pair information to existing configuration definition file B.
- Delete then re-create the pairs, registering them in configuration definition file C.
Tip: After deleting existing pairs, you can perform steps to assign new pairs to an existing consistency group.
