You can perform the following TrueCopy for Mainframe operations using PPRC TSO and ICKDSF commands:
- Add and remove remote paths between the local and remote storage systems
- Change port type (for example, from RCU target to initiator)
- Add and delete pairs
- Split and resume pairs
- Display pair status and other information
You cannot perform the following operations using PPRC:
- Configure ports
- Change the CU for remote connection
- Change the initial copy priority
- Specify whether the primary storage system keeps using the pair or splits the pair if DFW data cannot be copied to the S-VOL
The following table lists TrueCopy for Mainframe operations and indicates the corresponding PPRC command for each operation.
The parameters and format for PPRC commands are not described in this document. Please refer to the IBM® documentation, for example, Advanced Copy Services (SC35 0355), DFSMS MVS V1 Remote Copy Guide and Reference (SC35 0169), and ICKDSF User's Guide and Reference (GC35 0033).
PPRC TSO commands are issued from the mainframe host console to the P-VOL or S-VOL.
PPRCOPY ICKDSF commands are issued from JCL job cards.
