An IEA498I (F/M=F5) message is reported to the host when a remote copy path is shut down or restored. When an IEA498I message is reported, SIM 218x might also be reported. You can choose whether to send SIM 218x to the host by using SOM 308 and the local replica option for specifying whether to send service SIMs to the host for each storage system.
The following table shows which message is sent or not sent to the host if a remote copy path is shut down or restored.
| Shutdown or restoration of remote copy paths | Setting | Report to host | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SOM 308 | Remote replica option for specifying service SIM transmission for each storage system (by running the raidcom modify remote_replica_opt command with the -opt_type option set to “tc” and -service_sim option set to “enable” or “disable”) | SIM | IEA498I (F/M=0xF5) | |
| Remote copy path shutdown (SIM 2180, severity: moderate) | OFF (default) | N/A (SIM 2180 is not applicable to this remote replica option because the severity is moderate) | Not reported | Reported |
| ON | N/A (SIM 2180 is not applicable to this remote replica option because the severity is moderate) | SIM2180 reported | Reported | |
| Remote copy path restoration (SIM 2181, severity: service) | OFF (default) | Do not report | Not reported | Reported (restoration report using F/M=0xF5 is sent only when it is preceded by shutdown report using F/M=0xF5) |
| Report | Not reported | Reported (restoration report using F/M=0xF5 is sent only when it is preceded by shutdown report using F/M=0xF5) | ||
| ON | Do not report | Not reported | Reported (restoration report using F/M=0xF5 is sent only when it is preceded by shutdown report using F/M=0xF5) | |
| Report | SIM2181 reported | Reported (restoration report using F/M=0xF5 is sent only when it is preceded by shutdown report using F/M=0xF5) | ||
