After you have configured your storage system for ShadowImage for Mainframe operations, you can start creating pairs and assigning them to consistency groups (CTGs).
When the new ShadowImage for Mainframe volumes are paired and have reached the Duplex status, you can split pairs as needed to gain access to the S-VOLs. You can then resynchronize split pairs by copying the P-VOL differential data to the S-VOLs (forward resynchronization) or by copying the S-VOL differential data to the P-VOLs (reverse resynchronization).
When you are finished working with paired volumes, you can delete the ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs as needed.
