When the Compatible Multiplicity Mode local replica option (No. 5) is disabled, if the copy processing by ShadowImage, ShadowImage for Mainframe, or Volume Migration increases the MP usage rate or the cache write pending rate, you can reduce the load on the storage system by enabling the Compatible Multiplicity Mode local replica option (No. 5). When you enable this option, the maximum multiplicity of copy processing (maximum number of jobs allowed for concurrent copy processing) by ShadowImage, ShadowImage for Mainframe, or Volume Migration for each storage system is reduced from 253 (default setting) to 126.
The settings of the Compatible Multiplicity Mode option are as follows:
- ON (default): Sets 126 as the maximum multiplicity of copy processing for each storage system.
- OFF: Sets 253 as the maximum multiplicity of copy processing for each storage system.
You can use CCI to view and manage the local replica options for your storage system.
