You can use consistency group (CTG) pair-split to simultaneously split all the ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs in a consistency group. You can use CCI (pairsplit -g <group>), Business Continuity Manager (BCM), or IBM® PPRC commands to split the pairs in a consistency group.

If you use Business Continuity Manager (BCM), you can also use ATTIME Suspend to split the pairs at a specified time. If you use CCI or IBM® PPRC commands, you can simultaneously split the pairs in a CTG, but without time specification.

  1. Define a CTG for the ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs to be split using the consistency group pair split function.
  2. Specify the consistency group as a BCM copy group or register the split time.
    • If you specify the copy group, select Quick Split or Steady Split as the split type.
    • If you register the split time, the split type is Quick Split.
  3. Create the pairs by specifying the consistency group pair split option.
  4. Confirm that all the ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs within the consistency group are in the PAIR/DUPLEX or CPPD/PENDING status.
  5. Split the pairs within the consistency group.
These pairs will be split simultaneously.
