When you perform pair tasks such as splitting pairs, the pair status of each volume determines whether the operation can be performed. The following table lists the pair tasks and pair statuses and indicates whether the operation can be performed.

Notes:

  1. If you use Business Continuity Manager, the command is completed successfully, but no processing is performed, so the status of the pair does not change.
  2. If you use the PPRC TSO command, the command is completed successfully, but no processing is performed, so the status of the pair does not change. If you specify YES for the MSGREQ parameter, the command is abnormally terminated with CC=8.
  3. When the pair status transitions from PSUE/SUSPER to CPRS/PENDING, the PPRC TSO command is abnormally terminated with CC=8.
