When you resynchronize SIz pairs, data is copied from the P-VOL to the S-VOL.

Resynchronizing split pairs typically takes less time than resynchronizing suspended pairs (PSUE/SUSPER status). Split pairs typically contain much less accumulated differential data than the total amount of data in the P-VOL.

You can perform a Normal Copy or Quick Resync operation to resynchronize a pair. The Normal Copy operation requires time to check if differential data exists even if there is no differential data. The amount of time to check for differential data takes longer as the volume capacity increases, and it might take 10 minutes or more for 256 TB.

Complete the following steps to resynchronize SIz pairs that are split* or suspended:

  1. Place the S-VOLs offline.
  2. (Optional) If host I/O performance is prioritized, make sure the I/O load is light before resynchronizing pairs.
  3. Resynchronize the pairs.

    User interface support:

    • CCI (pairresync)
    • BCM (YKRESYNC)

* You can resynchronize pairs that are in the process of being Quick Split.
