When an SIz pair is deleted, the volume status changes from SMPP/TRANS to SMPL/SIMPLEX. Wait until the volume status changes to SMPL/SIMPLEX before you run a command (recommended wait time: 10 sec). Otherwise, the command might terminate abnormally.
You can use the CCI pairdisplay command to check the volume status, but this command cannot differentiate SMPL/SIMPLEX from SMPP/TRANS. To differentiate them in CCI, use the inqraid command to check if the volume is used by SI. If it is used by SIz, the status is SMPP/TRANS. If it is not used by SIz, the status is SMPL/SIMPLEX.
To perform this task in CCI, use the pairsplit -S command.
To perform this task in BCM, use the YKDELETE command.
- The P-VOL and the S-VOL must be synchronized.
- The pair must not be in the process of being deleted (SMPP/TRANS status).
- The volumes must not be in the process of being unpaired (SMPP/TRANS status).
