SIM code 680001 indicates that an error occured while capacity saving operations were performed. If SIM code 680001 is output, contact customer support and then take the following corrective actions as advised.

Initialize the volume identified by the SSB error code and the associated volumes including backup and restore operations (SIM code 680001)

When the V-VOL identified by the SSB error code is a deduplication system data volume (data store)

  1. Back up the data on both the following V-VOLs:
    • All V-VOLs with deduplication data enabled that are associated with the pool
    • A V-VOL with the vClone attribute that belongs to a family of a V-VOL with the vClone Parent attribute enabled and with deduplication data enabled
Note: During the backup, the data might not be read with SIM code 680001. In this case, back up only the data that can be read. Even if SIM code 680001 is output, continue this V-VOL initialization.
  2. Block V-VOLs in the following order:
    1. All V-VOLs with the vClone attribute that belongs to the family of the V-VOL with the vClone Parent attribute enabled and with deduplication data enabled
    2. All V-VOLs with deduplication data enabled
    3. All deduplication system data volumes
  3. Select the pool name to which the deduplication system data volume belongs, select the Virtual Volume tab, and then initialize duplicated data.
  4. Format V-VOLs in the following order:
    1. All deduplication system data volumes (data store)
    2. All V-VOLs with the vClone attribute that belongs to the family of the V-VOL with the vClone Parent attribute enabled and with deduplication data enabled
      CAUTION:
Performing this operation changes the vClone Parent attribute of the V-VOL with the vClone Parent attribute in the family to disabled.
    3. All V-VOLs with deduplication data enabled
  5. If a V-VOL with Compression Acceleration applied is initialized on a per-pool basis, verify the Compression Acceleration setting for the deduplication system data volume (data store). (See the raidcom modify ldev command.)
  6. Change the capacity saving setting for the V-VOL again.
  7. Re-create the V-VOL with the vClone attribute.
  8. Restore the backup data.

When the V-VOL identified by the SSB error code is not a deduplication system data volume (data store)

  1. Back up the data on all selected V-VOLs.
Note: During the backup, the data might not be read with SIM code 680001. In this case, back up only the data that can be read. Even if SIM code 680001 is output, continue this V-VOL initialization.
  2. Block all selected V-VOLs.
  3. Format all selected V-VOLs.
  4. Restore the backup data.
