If the path connected to the FICON® port does not go online, see the following workflow, and take an appropriate action.
This workflow disables a channel path (path between a host and a FICON® port) in IBM® mainframe systems.
If the FICON®port is directly connected to the HBA of the host, check the maximum data transfer speed of the HBA. For details on how to check the speed, see the HBA manual.
If the FICON® port is connected to the switch, set the maximum data transfer speed of switch ports for the applicable switch port. For details on how to set the speed, see the switch manual.
If the path does not go online, follow the workflow, and make sure to match the data transfer speed of the FICON® port with the maximum data transfer speed of the HBA or the switch port.
