This following table summarizes the SIM reference codes output to report the status of the key management server (KMS) in Fibre Channel Endpoint Security for Mainframe. If the event listed in the table occurs, a SIM code is output to alert the user, and then SNMP trap is reported.
| SIM code | Event | Notifications | Solutions | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sent to host? | Completion from maintenance utility? | Sent to maintenance personnel? | |||
| 663000 (Moderate) | KMS is not configured. | Yes | Required | Yes | Configure the KMS by referring to Establishing connections between the storage system and key management servers. |
| 663100 (Moderate) | The KMS configurations on the host and the storage system are inconsistent. | Yes | Required | Yes |
Make sure that the KMS settings match the host settings by referring to Establishing connections between the storage system and key management servers If this problem occurs again even after taking corrective actions, restart the ESM. If this problem still occurs again even after restarting the ESM, contact customer support. |

Failures occur on all servers registered in the KMS configurations. | Yes | Not Required. If the use of the FICON® encryption function is terminated without restoring the connection between the storage system and the KMS after this SIM is issued, the SIM will not complete automatically. In that case, complete the SIM using the maintenance utility. | Yes |
Verify the KMS configurations, the client certificate files, and the validity periods by referring to Establishing connections between the storage system and key management servers. After making the necessary changes, perform a connection test, and then verify that the registered KMSs are connected correctly. If the KMS is restored to the normal state, the SIM is automatically complete. If the following issues persist even after taking corrective actions, the problem might be related to the network environment between the storage system and the KMSs, or to the KMSs. In such cases, contact your network administrator or KMS administrator.
If there is no problem with the network or the KMS, restart the ESM. If this problem still occurs again even after restarting the ESM, contact customer support. |
